The story is set in pre-war Berlin and the action
alternates between the glitter and make-believe world of the Kit Kat Club in
Berlin and the harsh reality of the rise of Nazism in Germany, between 1929 and
1930.
Through the eyes of the bizarre character of the
EMCee, we observe the experiences of the people involved. The blend
between reality and the fantasy world of the club allows for a wide range of
well-known music and exciting dancing.
