The Show | Dramatis personę | The Production Team | The Orchestra

The story tells of Bill Snibson, a Lambeth costermonger, who is revealed to be the new Earl of Hareford and his newly discovered aristocratic relatives are horrified.  Bringing him to Hareford Hall they attempt to educate Bill into the ways of the gentry and to separate him from his cockney girlfriend Sally.  The result?  Chaos of the most comical kind!  The show has a host of colourful and hilarious characters, witty one liners and several toe-tapping songs such as "The Lambeth Walk", "Me and My Girl", "The sun has got his hat on" and "Leaning on a lamppost".

"Me and My Girl" first opened at the Victoria Palace Theatre London 1937 and starred Lupino Lane. It was the subject of one of the first outside broadcasts live from a theatre.  The show was revived in 1984 and has since become the fourth longest running show in London with over 3300 performances.
